House Update #2: We’ve Got Rocks

In case you missed it: House Update #1

Things seems like they’re dragging along in slow motion with the house. But I know from experience that this part takes a long time. And I want it done right. I’m just anxious to get things in the dry before winter hits. I’m told winters are usually wet here, and that’s not going to be good for house building if we don’t have a roof yet.

Last week when Mom & Dad were here, we had stakes in the ground.

And by the end of the week, we had forms and pipes.

Then yesterday, we had gravel.

It’s a beautiful pile of rocks, isn’t it?

The house two doors down that’s going up at the same time as ours already had the fill in and the guys were prepping it for concrete. I’m hoping they move on to ours today or tomorrow.

On a side note, we went trick-or-treating in our neighborhood last night. Caedmon had a great haul. On just one street, he ended up with a sand bucket full of candy. He and Husband sorted it when we got home.

I think Husband was as excited about the candy as Caedmon was.

That neighborhood doesn’t mess around. There were folks out in their driveways with their fire pits waiting to hand out candy. Next year will be lots of fun, I’m sure.
