Caedmon had his first official day of homeschooling on Monday. And the second yesterday. We survived.
In fact, we did more than survive. We did pretty darn well, if I do say so myself.
Caedmon is smart and eager to learn. He already knows a few of the concepts we’re going over, but that’s good. Not everything has to be new all at once.
Honor is learning some new things, too. Namely, how to manage when Mom and Caedmon have to be busy. Yesterday, she sat at the table with us during one of our lessons and played with a wooden puzzle and nesting cups. She loves those little nesting cups, y’all. Seriously. I wish I’d known how cool those things are before this week. I would’ve busted them out on many occasions.
We still aren’t quite in a groove yet, but we’ll get there. We are, however, totally rockin’ this thing.
I’d also like to say Happy Birthday to my Mom, the woman who successfully homeschooled seven (yes, seven) children and still has her wits about her. If she can do it with seven, surely I can manage my two.
YAY!! Happy First day of school!!
ReplyDeleteand Happy Birthday to your Super Mom!
Glad it went well :-) We aren't starting until after Labor Day but . . .public schools don't start in Michigan until after Labor day.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you were homeschooled! Awesome! I was too... through 9th grade. And Drew was as we'll, from 7th on. Glad to know there's another "normal" homeschooled out there :-)
ReplyDeleteLove this! So excited for your family! :)Happy First Day (and 2nd day) to you both!
