I’ve put off starting solids with Honor for as long as I could. Caedmon started solids at 5 1/2 months, mainly because he’d maul me to try to get my food. Honor has just recently become ready for solids. And I was glad. I have been in no hurry to deal with baby food again. In fact, she was probably ready several weeks ago, but I wanted to wait until we were done traveling. There was no need in dragging that stuff around with us. But at the same time, I’ve felt like a heel because I’ve put her off this long. She’s healthy. She’s happy. She’s had no idea what she was missing.
Yesterday was the day. And Caedmon was super excited. When he got up yesterday morning, he started asking when it would be time for Honor to eat cereal. Since Caedmon was so excited about cereal, he had some for lunch too, though his was Honey Nut Cheerios. Husband came home for lunch so he could experience the yumminess too – and take pictures!
So we finally got ready.
And gave Honor the first bite.
She likes it!
She did really well, and even opened wide for a few bites! (Caedmon was giving his support by opening his mouth, too. I didn’t notice until I was looking through the pictures. So sweet!)
Honor really did seem to like it, but grew bored of it quickly. I hope she’ll be a good eater! She’s already enjoying the bib.
Caedmon took this one – my budding photographer.
And then he insisted on having his picture with the food-eating girl.
Caedmon’s already asked when Honor gets to eat again. He’s ready to start feeding this girl real food!
So cute! Love the pictures :) Caedmon is such a good big brother!
