Overly Dramatic Post About My Favorite Mug

So, remember the search for the perfect mug? I certainly do. Like it was yesterday. (And re-reading that post reminds me of how much I miss LOST.)

The Grimace became my go-to mug, earning the honor of the title “Favorite Mug.” The Paisley sat on my desk as a random item holder until I gave it to Squirt as part of her graduation gift. I knew it would be perfect for her.

Yes, I sorta re-gifted that thing. But I knew she would love it. It went along perfectly with what I was giving her for college. And it’s not like it was a re-gift because I bought it for myself. So it was more like a hand-me-down. Not that that’s any better. But I digress.

Anyway, I got The Grimace out of the dishwasher the other day and made my drink. Then I found this….

That’s right. A chip. You have no idea how sad I was.

I even texted Husband. And my Mom. I needed someone to share in my mourning.

They humored me, but I am not naïve enough to think they actually mourned with me. That’s ok.

So I made do with mugs from the pantry, including this one I bought when we went to Alcatraz.

I really do like this mug, it just doesn’t have all the qualities necessary for “favorite mug” status. (When I bought the mug, I told the guy this was one of my Mom’s rules when we were growing up. He thought I was kidding. I wasn’t.)

But since I have already been on this hunt once, I knew where to find a perfect replacement. And this time, I got two. They were 70% off, so getting two was less expensive than one at regular price.

I’m all about a good mug, but I’m still cheap.

Tea just tastes better from the right mug. The world is right again. At least for a few minutes.
