Giveaway: Forgotten God *CLOSED*

The Forgotten God by Francis Chan: Book CoverToday I have a giveaway of a different sort. Husband has graciously offered to give one lucky reader a copy of Francis Chan’s latest book, The Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit.

If you are not familiar with Francis Chan, he’s a pastor and author. His first book, Crazy Love, was a bestseller, and this book has been no different. It’s everywhere. So you may have your own copy sitting on your bedside table. You can still win it for a friend.

Here’s what Amazon’s product description has to say about it: “A follow up to the profound message of Crazy Love, Pastor Francis Chan offers a compelling invitation to understand, embrace, and follow the Holy Spirit's direction in our lives. In the name of the Father, the Son, and ... the Holy Spirit. We pray in the name of all three, but how often do we live with an awareness of only the first two? As Jesus ascended into heaven, He promised to send the Holy Spirit--the Helper--so that we could be true and living witnesses for Christ. Unfortunately, today's church has admired the gift but neglected to open it. Breakthrough author Francis Chan rips away paper and bows to get at the true source of the church's power--the Holy Spirit. Chan contends that we've ignored the Spirit for far too long, and we are reaping the disastrous results. Thorough scriptural support and compelling narrative form Chan's invitation to stop and remember the One we've forgotten, the Spirit of the living God.”

I’d like to tell you more about it, but I must confess that I haven’t read it yet. So if you haven’t either, you’re not alone.

If you’d like to win this book (for yourself or a friend), here’s how:

  • Leave a comment, letting me know if you want to win it for yourself or for someone else.

The Details: Contest open to residents of the US and Canada 18 years or older. Entries will be closed on Thursday, April 29 at 10:00pm CST. Winner will be chosen by random.org and announced on Friday, April 30, 2010. Winner will be notified by email and have 48 hours to respond. If no response, another winner will be chosen.

Disclaimer: This giveaway is in no way associated with Francis Chan or the publisher of his book, David C. Cook. The book for the giveaway was provided by Husband out of the goodness of his heart, not because he wanted anything in return from me…or ya’ll. Giving this book away does not mean that I agree with everything Mr. Chan has to say. To see more, click here.

I saw this book last time I was at the Christian bookstore, and it intrigued me. I have both his books on hold/order at my public library. I am waiting for others to return them so I can read them, but if I could win a book, that would be even better!
