Garage Sale Avenged

Our weekend was full, but good.

Husband kicked it off Thursday night at midnight by seeing The Avengers with some friends. Friday, he slept in and then we prepped for the garage sale. The infamous garage sale.

Saturday morning, I got up to take care of the kids, while Husband began to set things out for the garage sale. Of course, Caedmon helped. Because the garage sale was for our entire neighborhood, people were already circling. They sold a piece of furniture right away.

Caedmon loved the garage sale. I’d told him that if he sold some toys, he could keep the money. He ended up selling a few things and was pretty excited about the money he made.

We wrapped it up around noon and prepared everything that was left to be donated. For the record, the garage sale went well. But that does not change my loathing for them.

And after everything was cleaned up, Husband went to see The Avengers. Again.

We had good Sunday, and Ian was kind enough to come over to hang with the kids while Husband and I went to see The Avengers. My first time. His third.

In case you hadn’t noticed, we love some superheroes at our house.

Yesterday was groceries and chores. You know, fun things.

Oh, and naps. For one fourth of our family. Well, two-fifths if you count Oz. Caedmon is on a nap boycott, which has him waking up early and falling to pieces at every little thing. Honor has had a rough few days and was awake at 6 yesterday morning. You’d think that would mean extra long naps, but you’d be incorrect. And it makes for a grouchy little girl between that second nap and bedtime.

Today my plan was to hit the pool for the first time this summer. But as our blazin’ hot, sunny weather has disappeared and been replaced by rain, I don’t think that’s going to happen. But I’m not complaining. I’m just trying to figure out how to keep Caedmon happy now that he knows the pool is open and we can’t go. The weather can be cruel sometimes. Cruel, indeed.
