It only took me 15 years, but it finally happened. Husband and I went to the zoo. The real zoo. We’ve been through the drive-thru Safari place back home, but it’s just not the same.
I love the zoo. I’ve always loved the zoo. Husband, on the other hand…well, it’s taken 15 years for us to go to the zoo together. I’ll bet that explains how much he likes it. But when you have kids, you can only avoid it for so long!
This kid was excited about heading to the zoo!
First, we ate lunch at The Varsity.
Honor enjoyed her fries.
She got a few bites of Caedmon’s FO, too, which they both thoroughly enjoyed.
We finally made it to the zoo! Caedmon was ready to get going – forget this picture-taking junk!
We saw the flamingos first. And last. When we were ready to leave, Caedmon wanted to go back to see them.
He was super excited about having his picture taken with this gorilla statue, too.
Honor enjoyed the zoo, too. She spent part of her time in the stroller like this….
We saw the Komodo Dragon…
…and then had our picture taken on the statue.
Caedmon and Husband had to get a closer look at something in the reptile house.
Bless him, Caedmon has his Daddy’s “Chandler Bing” photo smile. He tries.
He did get to get super close to the panda, though. Too bad the dude wouldn’t turn around.
We made it over to the Children’s area. Caedmon wanted his picture taken in the kangaroo thingy. (I don’t know what these things are called. I’m sure they have a real name.)
By the time we got over there, Honor was tired.
I think this guy knows just how she felt.
Caedmon loved the petting zoo.
We had a fun time at the zoo. And we’ll be going back. The kids and I will, anyway. Daddy might be done with the zoo for another 15 years or so.
We love the Atlanta zoo, especially the panda exhibit! The last time we were there a goat head butted Cameryn in the stomach, though. Silly! Have you checked out the aquarium yet?!
