Wednesday, Caedmon was napping; I was working, watching TV in the living room. I heard a crashing sound come from our room, and I instantly knew what it was.
Stupid closet rod thingies.
This is definitely not the first time we’ve had a closet rod come crashing down. I think the last one happened in the middle of the night. That was fun. I don’t know why we didn’t replace them all at once.
And yes, I left the clothes in the floor just like that. I bought new brackets yesterday but haven't had a chance to get it fixed yet because I slept crazy on my shoulder and couldn't lift my arm above my head yesterday. Hopefully we'll manage to get both of those things fixed today.
Remember the other day when I burned part of dinner? This is what the pan looks like now.
I have scrubbed it with an SOS pad and not had much luck. Does anyone know if this is salvageable? I hate to toss this pot, as it is one of my favorites.
Tomorrow is Caedmon's birthday party. He is "so excited!" and is ready to eat "pupcakes." He may even get to have a "picmake" (picnic) and eat his cake outside since we have a cold front that's come thru and it's only going to be 90 degrees tomorrow. He has no idea the Toy Story goodness that awaits him tomorrow. I can't wait to see his little face!
Did you try using a baking soda paste on your pan? It is worth a try.
ReplyDeleteBar keeper might help. I've cooked off burns before, just put some water in the pan and cook it for a while, then scrub while it's still hot but cool enough to touch and scrub it. I also have cleaned a pan multiple times, took about 5 days but the pan looks good as new. Just keep scrubbing at it and eventually it will come up.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like I burn things a lot, not really. We have stainless steel pans so we are always cleaning them. We really don't like non-stick so we deal with the scrubbing. :-)
Mr.Clean magic eraser!
ReplyDeleteYou told me once to try soaking it overnight with a dryer sheet. Ive used that trick several times and its worked well.
