BooMama's Christmas Tour of Homes

BooMama hosts a Christmas Tour of Homes each year, and I have decided to participate this year.

We decided against putting the tree up this year. Because you can only say "No" so many times a day, and with a 15 month old, I already hit that limit without the Christmas tree.

Here's the mantle with our brand spankin' new stockings from Pottery Barn Kids. We have been married for 10 years, and Husband and I have been using our stockings from when we were kids. I've been searching for new ones for a while, but haven't found anything I really liked.

But last year with C having joined our family, I needed new stockings. And the poor kid didn't get one last year. So this year, we made it happen. Embroidered personalization and all.

I'm just a teensy bit excited about the new stockings. Can you tell?

Next is our Fontanini nativity set. It was started for us as wedding gifts, and I have continued to add to it one piece at a time. There are so many awesome additions I hope to eventually have.

The best part about this set is that the pieces are plastic resin. Tanslation: They aren't fragile. So one day when I have a place to set these that are within reach of a certain little boy, it won't be a big deal.

In the kitchen, I have my snowman collection. Normally, the space above the cabinets has the grapevine and pieces of silver - platters, bowls, etc. The twinkle lights actually stay up year-round, hidden by the recess.

So for Christmas, the silver comes down, the "snow" gets piled on, and the snowmen make themselves at home. Some of these guys were gifts, I purchased some, and others were plain pieces that I painted myself (including the trio on the right).

And we took the lazy way out on the outside decorations. No Christmas Vacation-esque lights this year.

And following BooMama's rules, for refreshments, my favorite new thing this year is our Kuerig and the Hot Chocolate pods. It's not the best hot chocolate I've ever had, but it's certainly the easiest.

Head on over to BooMama's to see more on her Christmas Tour of Homes. Pin It

  1. I love it all! Great job mom! I don't blame you about the tree! My favorite is the mantle and the touch of snow outside when you took the photo of the wreaths!

  2. I agree with Melissa on the snow, it just adds that extra special touch, we DON'T get that in Florida. :(

Hey, the actual reason I am leaving a comment is for you to check out my blog when you have a second, I "tagged" you on a post and would love to see what old photo you dig up! :)

I'm most jealous of the snow ;-) I love it all, I think other than the snow the top of the cabinets would be my favorite part. This is just too much fun, thanks for having us.
