The Hatchling

In case you hadn't heard, our first hatchling is on its way. It will be the first grand-hatchling for Mom and Dad, and the third for Husband's parents. Needless to say, everyone is excited. And it has already brought quite a few changes to our lives, with many more to come. The dogs have no idea what is coming. We are beginning now to prepare them as much as we can. But I know it will be a huge change for them. Hopefully they'll adjust well.

We plan to find out if it's a Chickster or a Chicklet. So until that time, shopping is pretty much useless. You can hardly get anything gender generic anymore - it's all blue or pink. So until the Doc is able to tell us for sure we will refrain from shopping, which has been more difficult than I thought it would be.

Yes, I have been craving stuff. Nothing outrageous or weird...but cravings just the same. Husband has been very kind to indulge me, and has decided that he's probably going to gain "baby weight" too. But for all that he has to put up with (a moody, hormonal, belly-growing wife), I figure a few sympathy pounds won't hurt.

I'll try to be better about posting now that things have finally settled down a little bit. No promises, though.
