Blog Topic Lost

Ok, so I had the perfect blog topic in my head just this morning. And I lost it. It’s gone. I have absolutely no idea what I was going to blog about today. I even remember thinking, “Wow – that’s a good one. That will make up for my totally crappy posts lately.” And now I can’t even remember what it was. Nice.

That could have something to do with the fact that I got about three hours of sleep last night. I think the combination of my new high-powered drugs along with caffeine absorption from just inhaling the fumes from Husband’s coffee had something to do with it. Oh, and the dog had to go out about 12:30 (which is rare), so that didn’t help. I even felt bad when I let her out of her crate (which is right beside the bed) because not only did she go out to potty, but she drank about a gallon of water. “Great. Let’s defeat the purpose of going out,” I thought as I stood at the edge of the living room carpet in a sleep-deprived stupor. I mean, I don’t want her to be parched, but give me a break. We’d gone to bed about three hours before – she wasn’t going to die or anything.

I feel bad for her anyway…Argus bit her on the butt the other night. Let me explain. The dogs were in a particularly sassy mood the other night, and while Husband and I were watching TV on the couch (which they’re no longer allowed on), they were constantly pestering each other. It was the typical “kid” thing – one would get a toy, and the other would want it. So, Criket has been doing this weird thing lately where she lays down, hangs out, chews on toys, etc. with her butt up in the air. I don’t know where she got it, but it looks pretty funny. Anyway, she’d gone and gotten a “new” toy out of the basket and brought it back to her pillow to amuse herself. So, she laid herself down with her toy and Argus came up behind her. I saw him – he looked at her, looked at me, then pounced and bit her on the butt. Of course she turned around and let him have it. It was kinda funny until later when I realized that he’d actually broken the skin and caused her to bleed. So she has a sore on her rear from being bitten by her brother. I can’t feel too badly for her – I mean she was antagonizing him moments before. I’d just prefer not to have to disinfect more bites any time soon.

The short month of February has totally thrown me off. I almost didn’t get the house payment entered in our online bill pay in time. Yes, yes, I know it can set up recurring payments. But I’m such a control freak that I don’t want to do that. Thus, I freak out if I almost forget. It keeps you on your toes. Which I need right now. I feel like I'm currently in a drug-induced haze. I wish it was the fun kind! Pin It

  1. Yeah, you just wait til you are disinfecting the skin of the cousin that your child bit! :) You know who I am talking about - you biter. You are paying for your raisin' - even if it is vicariously through your puppies instead of through your own offspring. Just think what the real thing would be like...enough to stick with the dogs, no doubt!
