Christmas Vacation

As I pause the blogging in honor of Christmas, I leave you with the lyrics to the opening song from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

It's that time, Christmas time is here;
Everybody knows there's not a better time of year.
Hear that sleigh, Santa's on his way;
Hip, hip hooray for Christmas Vacation!

Got a ton of stuff to celebrate (jing a ling a ling);
Now it's getting closer, I can't wait (jing a ling a ling).
Gonna make this holiday as perfect as can be;
Just wait and see this Christmas Vacation.

This old house sure is lookin' good;
Got ourselves the finest snowman in the neighborhood.
Ain't it fun, always on the run
That's how it's done on Christmas Vacation.

Let's go deck the halls and light the lights (jing a ling a ling);
Gather, toasty fire burning bright (jing a ling a ling).
Give St. Nick the warmest welcome that it's ever had;
We're so glad it's Christmas Vacation.

And when the nights are peaceful and serene,
we can cuddle up and do our Christmas dreamin!

Peace and love and joy all everywhere (jing a ling a ling);
You can feel the magic in the air (jing a ling a ling).
Let the spirit of the season carry us away,
Hip hip hooray for Christmas Vacation!

Christmas Vacation...Christmas Vacation...
We're so glad it's Christmas Vacation!

And as a special bonus, some favorite quotes from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.
"I'm going to pull around and leave them safely behind."
"She'll see it later, Clark. Her eyes are frozen."
"Where are you gonna put that?" "Bend over and I'll show ya'."
"Did you check every bulb?"
"I wouldn't be more surprised if I woke up with my face sewn to the carpet."
"Oh, just enjoying the splendor of a winter's morn, and an idiot emptying a chemical toilet into the storm sewer."
"Grace? She died 30 years ago."
"You couldn't hear a dump truck driving through a nitro glycerin plant."
"Well, maybe if you wouldn't feed him from the table."
"No, he's just in there nosin' through the trash."
"Squirrel!"
"If I had a rubber hose, I'd beat you with it."
"...o'er the land of the free, and the home of the brave. Play Ball!"

    Aaaaaaaaaaa.. Tomorrow, we leave for meemom's house at any given point. (when dad makes up his mind) Which might be, 3 o'clock in the morning, or 11:00 in the day. FUN FUN! lol. and I get to sit in the stinking van for 4 or 5 hours trying to play cards on the chair, and setting them back up again, when some little fart messes them up! lol.
