Baby #2 Highlights
How Far Along: 12 weeks (Need to catch up? Here’s last week.)
Size of Baby: Just over 2 inches, about the size of a lime. I love lime.
And this boy holding the lime.
Big Brother Caedmon: It’s been a busy week and Caedmon and I have struggled some. As in, his onrey streak has been a mile wide and I feel like I’m attacking/defending with a yard stick.
He enjoyed listening to the heartbeat from last week, and he’ll probably be going with me to the doctor in a few weeks and get to hear it for himself.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: I’m still claiming +2 pounds from last week’s doctor visit.
Maternity Clothes: Yes, finally! I have one pair of maternity jeans that I can wear right now, and they are much easier and much more comfy than my regular jeans with a Bella Band.
Gender: We don’t know
Movement: None yet
Sleep: Still waking up some due to allergies, but other than that I am sleeping pretty well.
Symptoms: Crazy dreams. Some days I am exhausted and I know it from the get-go. Other days it sneaks up on me and by lunchtime I have decided that I would like to do nothing but sleep. On Saturday (Husband is still laughing at me about this) I took two naps. Two! I took one at 9am (yes, 9am) and another when Caedmon napped. I told him I was trying to adjust to a newborn’s nap schedule. I don’t think he bought it. But some days I don’t get a nap and still can’t wind myself down by 10pm. I have no idea what my deal is. Also, my hip has been bothering me. My hips hurt throughout my entire pregnancy with Caedmon. This time, I have a secret weapon…my Chiropractor. I only wish I could visit his office every day, but that might get a little stalker-ish. I suppose I’ll have to settle for once a week right now.
What I Miss: Nothing except a real Coke here and there.
Cravings: I don’t know if this qualifies as a craving, but I cannot get the Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory out of my head. We had it when we were in Texas this past summer and oh my word…what I wouldn’t give to have some right now. I might even get desperate and try to recreate it myself pretty soon since The Cheesecake Factory has not seen fit to grace our area with their presence (Hint, hint!). So I guess that qualifies as a craving. I mean, who wouldn’t love to have some of this?
Seriously, who wants some? Because if I end up making this (or trying to), there is no way on earth I need to have the whole thing at my house. We’ll need to have a Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake eating party. No promises that it’ll be anywhere as good as The Cheesecake Factory’s, though. I can bake, but I am no magician.
Best Moment This Past Week: Maybe those two naps on Saturday…I’m kidding. Strangely enough, it was actually being able to wear maternity jeans and feeling like I don’t have to adjust my clothing every 7.3 seconds.
What I Am Looking Forward To: Hopefully a low-key weekend with some Frito Pie and football. And the fall weather has been superb…I’d like some more of that, please!
I regularly took 2 naps on Saturdays when I was pregnant. One nap was because I was tired from chasing Brody all week and the other nap was because I was tired from being pregnant. It's totally acceptable.
ReplyDeleteFirst, you are depriving the world of seeing your perfect, tiny, adorable baby bump and it's just not right. =)
ReplyDeleteSecond, and slightly OT, that baby tiger purring and rubbing all over C is the cutest thing! I still haven't taken B there but we really need to go!
If you do feel the need to make that cheesecake I'll take the bullet and eat a piece so you don't have to eat the whole thing. I mean... what are friends for? :O)
ReplyDeleteLove the updates!
Gina
There's a place in Eureka Springs that Coy took me to that has a million different types of cheesecake... They might have your red velvet loveliness there.
ReplyDeleteCongrats on the pregnancy going well. Love the photo with the lime - so cute! I remember being exhausted my second pregnancy, it is tough chasing one around while growing another. More naps are definitely in order I think!
ReplyDeleteI will be happy to sacrifice my taste buds for your baking experiment.
