As is tradition in Husband's family, Caedmon got to open one gift on Christmas Eve, a special gift from Nana and Poppy. Though they usually open their gifts in the evening, we chose to let him open it early so he'd have ample time to play with it before the Christmas Eve Service and bedtime.
My Special Commentary:
1. No, it was not early morning, but we were all still in our pajamas. Get over it.
2. I have discovered that Caedmon opens gifts like Curly used to: each piece of wrapping paper must be properly taken care of before another comes off.
3. It took him a sweet forever to open that gift. To his credit, I'd double-wrapped it because I thought we were going to have to travel with it before it could be opened.
4. It took longer to get the tamper-proof junk off the guitar than it did for Caedmon to open it. Ultimately, it took both me and Husband. We've decided to pre-open some of these things in the future so the poor boy doesn't have to wait for all the anti-theft hardware to come off.
5. Oz is like The Observer...always lurking, making sure he's right where the action is, or is about to be. Except that he's not bald.
6. The boy has got some mean dance moves, even when he's sitting down.
7. Yes, I realize that I left you with long stretches of nothing but Caedmon mashing the same button over and over again. You're welcome.
Merry Christmas, ya'll!
And now, back to our Christmas Break.

We learned last year to open things before hand. Mine and Aaron's fingers were sore by the end of the day from those darn plastic twisties. So this year I prepped all the gifts and took them all out of the packaging. :-)
ReplyDeleteCutie! Where did he get all of those moves?
