6 Month Update

We saw Dr. B a few days ago for Chickster's 6 month check-up. Yes, he's still officially growing, and met all of his developmental milestones. Dr. B was making a comment about how Chickster was trying to "help" with his stethoscope when I warned that our little monkey boy might reach out with his feet and grab the perfectly knotted tie dangling from Dr. B's neck, precariously close to Chickster's little appendages. Just about that time, Chickster's long, skinny toes clamped down on the blue and green striped tie and pulled. Lesson learned. I think from now on when Dr. B sees Chickster, he'll throw that tie over his shoulder. He did get quite a chuckle out of it. Hey, he can't say I didn't try to warn him.

So here are Chickster's new stats:
Weight: 16 pounds, 9 ounces
Height: 25 1/2 inches
Head: still little, but moving up the growth chart a bit :)

And here are a few pictures from the last couple of weeks.

While playing, Chickster made his way over to the toy tub and dumped every single toy out. He was playing with completely different toys when I came back than when I left. Smart boy!

This is a "Plumpie" doll that Husband had as a little boy. Chickster's not quite sure what to make of it. He did slobber all over it, though.

His most favorite thing of late...fingers in the mouth.

Chickster loves this teething ring. This is the first time he played with it after it was chilled in the fridge. He liked it when it was cold, but wasn't so fond of it after it warmed up. We've ruined a perfectly good toy since he only likes it now when it's cold!

  1. I think if we averaged out your boy and my boy, we might have have a good sized little dude. Porter was at his 4 month check only 14 lbs (maybe 15 by now), but he was 26 1/2 inches long and that boy has a HUGE head! It's 17cm!! Good cow! He's in the 90 percentile in height and head circumference. What I would have given for a smaller head during delivery! :)

Your little man is adorable!! He's getting cuter by the day, I think. We should get out boys together for a play date. They would be fascinated with eachother, I'm sure.

  2. Your Porter is a cute little boy - our paths cross sometimes on Sunday mornings. I would love to get the boys together to play. That would be so much fun!
